Eindhoven
The facility, located at the Acht industrial park in Eindhoven, is adjacent to the A2/N2 Eindhoven ring road, which offers direct access to Belgium and Germany, as well as Amsterdam to the north. The agreement is one of the largest build-to-suit projects in the region. The expansion spotlighted XPO’s commitment to investing in the expanding market for high-value warehousing, distribution and fulfillment services in the Benelux, and the area’s growing prominence as a strategic logistics hub for Central Europe.
Expansion in Venlo
In 2016, XPO Logistics and Prologis announced the development of 60,000 square meters, an expansion located at Trade Port North in Venlo in the Netherlands. The facility, DC7, was completed mid-2017. Features include LED lighting and BREEAM accreditation of “Very Good”.
Logistics hot spot
Venlo is one location in the Benelux experiencing a strong increase in demand for high-quality facilities. “We have a strong position in Venlo, the leading logistics hub in the Netherlands, but we always look to expand our park to offer our customers modern, high-quality distribution space. Partnership municipality of Venlo
Part of the success of Venlo as a logistics hub is a result of long-term planning. Stephan Satijn, alderman Economic Affairs of the municipality of Venlo explains, “The region invested in a logistics hub position many years ago, and Prologis has been a long-lasting strategic partner.”
Prologis owns six distribution facilities in Venlo. The latest development of DC7 increased the size of Prologis’ Venlo portfolio at Prologis Park Venlo from 180,000 to 250,000 square meters.
Growth at Schiphol
In 2016, Prologis developed a new distribution center for XPO Logistics at Prologis Fokker Logistics Park at Schiphol. This Schiphol facility was the 21st supply chain site for XPO Logistics in the Netherlands. Prologis Fokker Logistics Park is the largest airport-linked, privately owned logistics business park in Europe with a total of 89,500 square meters of logistics space. Schiphol is an important gateway to domestic distribution facilities.
