The Jönköping municipality has approximately 135,000 inhabitants, making it one of the 10 largest cities in Sweden. The region is considered one of the most important logistics areas in South Sweden. A well-developed rail and road network provides quick access to Stockholm, Gothenburg, Jönköping Airport and Copenhagen, Denmark. Eighty percent of Sweden’s population is within a 350-kilometer radius of Jönköping.
Because of its central location, Jönköping is an important logistics center. Several big- and medium-size companies are established in the municipality, which has about 13,000 businesses total.
In the early Middle Ages, Jönköping was a popular marketplace, and it has retained its importance since that time. Today, several major roads pass through Jönköping: the E4 from Malmö to Stockholm and the Riksväg 40 from Borås. The Riksväg 40 with the E4 is the fastest connection from Gothenburg to Stockholm.
Prologis operates several industrial properties and warehouses in the Jönköping region.
